ART EXHIBITION - SYDNEY
27th November, 2015

The Art exhibition was a joint venture between St. Margaret Mary’s Primary School and Mount St. Joseph’s Home. This idea evolved  after the children had assisted the residents to garden and plant in the Home's raised up garden beds.

The purpose of the Art Project?   To  learn about the lives of the Residents and to depict their stories in Art.
The theme of the Exhibition?  “A Life Well Lived”
Art classes by a volunteer artist assisted the residents and children to bring this idea to fruition.
On the day of the Exhibition, as well as the display of paintings,  a large man made tree was erected and people were invited to write, on a leaf, lessons learnt from parents and  grand parents.
A silent auction for certain paintings added fun to the day, but some paintings were not for sale.
All the students were presented with a certificate of Appreciation in recognition of their outstanding contribution to this Art Exhibition.
We are very grateful to the residents, students, staff and volunteers who contributed to the success of this event and who lived the words of St. Jeanne Jugan: “Making the elderly happy is what counts.
