On December 5,

Pope Francis granted a private audience

to a very small delegation

from the Congregation of the Little Sisters of the Poor

Five Little Sisters and five residents of the Home in Rome and Marino representing all residents around the world, had the unexpected grace of this audience. During this "unforgettable" encounter, Mother María del Monte presented a spiritual bouquet that all the Houses of the Little Sisters prepared during this year on the occasion of the priestly jubilee of the Holy Father, as well as the offering of 18 chalices representing the 17 provinces and the Mother House.

Mother María del Monte then told us:
May this grace granted to the Congregation and the Residents bring us renewed enthusiasm to always
go forward in our beautiful mission at the service of the Poor.

Having lived with our Residents such great joy, I remembered the evangelical words with which the Prologue of our Constitutions begins: "I bless you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for hiding this from the wise and the intelligent and to have revealed it to the little ones. Yes, Father, because such was your good pleasure. "

Through this sharing, we sincerely thank all the residents, Jeanne Jugan Associates, staff, volunteers, benefactors and families for this wonderful collaboration!

With Saint Jeanne Jugan, we say "God be blessed!"

Our Mission is to offer the neediest elderly of every race and religion a home where they will be welcomed as Christ, cared for as family and accompanied with dignity until God calls them to himself.

We adhere at all times to the Philosophy, Ethics and Moral Law of the Catholic Church, from whom the Congregation has received its mission.
