This information applies to new residents entering care from 1st July 2014.

Little Sisters of the Poor care for those in need especially the financially poor. Priority for admission will be given to the poorest. In the exceptional circumstance that a resident has the capacity to pay an accommodation payment, for example a person experiencing other forms of poverty, they may choose to pay for their accommodation by refundable deposit, a daily payment, or a combination of both.

St Joseph’s Home - Northcote

ocation and Overview - St Joseph's Home is located in the Victorian suburb of Northcote, 7km north-east of the Melbourne CBD. It is well serviced by public transport - tram and train - which allows easy access to not only the CBD, but also Northcote's attractive shops, post office, chemist, medical centre and leisure activities. Extensive renovations were completed in late 2015, giving the home a modern and welcoming ambience. 

Standard single room - St Joseph’s Home offers single rooms with individual ensuites. The rooms are freshly painted with vinyl or carpeted floors and are well maintained. Each room has a view to the courtyard or overlooking the gardens. All rooms have electric beds, built in wardrobes and free standing furniture.

Common areas - The home has several lounge rooms with views to expansive gardens. Our two large dining rooms are easily accessible and accommodate residents with walking aids. We have a Chapel offering daily Mass and reflection, physio room, a large auditorium and a self contained function center for the use of residents, families and community. We also have a library, coffee shop and general store run by the community. The home and gardens are well maintained.



Glendalough Home

ocation and Overview - Glendalough Home is located in the Western Australian suburb of Glendalough, 6km north-west of the Perth CBD. It is well serviced by public transport, including trains, and has amenities close by
 
The new Glendalough Home was ready for occupancy from 24th July, 2019. This Home features a purpose-built modern facility with exceptional features such as a street scape -where rooms open up to a corridor similar to a street complete with gardens, benches and street lights. Residents can enjoy the newly landscaped gardens and courtyards that surround the Home providing  pleasant outdoor areas including a large barbeque gathering area that families are welcome to use.

Standard single room - Glendalough Home offers single rooms, with single ensuites, . The rooms feature new modern facilities with two built in wardrobes bedside locker and drawers. A large wall television is provided, A hospital standard bed, an arm chair and elegant modern curtains. Each room opens on to a courtyard. Every resident’s room and ensuite features the latest emergency call bell system where calls connect directly to staff phones. Each room has an individual telephone connection. There is a fixed reading light as well as normal overhead lighting in each room.

Description of common areas-   An open plan allows for a large activity area featuring a central fish pond and a hobby room, a large lounge area with dining room spaces at each end. Four small intimate sitting areas provide spaces where residents can socialise together and enjoy interactions with volunteers and visitors.  A physiotherapy and well-being area is provided. In addition, the new home also has a cafeteria, hairdressing salon and a giftshop. At the heart of the home is a modern, beautiful and prayerful Chapel.

 

Mount St Joseph’s Home - Randwick


Location and Overview - Mount St Joseph's Home is located in the New South Wales suburb of Randwick, 7km south-east of the Sydney CBD. It is well serviced by public transport. The Randwick shopping district is just a few kilometers away where a range of shopping and leisure activities can be found including a post office, chemist and cafes. Our Home is currently undergoing extensive renovations which are due for completion in July 2017.

Standard single room - Mount St Joseph’s Home offers single rooms, most with a private ensuite, though a few shared bathrooms remain until renovations are complete. The rooms are freshly painted with vinyl or carpeted floors and are well maintained. Each room has a view to the courtyard or overlooking the gardens. All rooms have an emergency call bell system, electric beds, built in wardrobes and freestanding furniture.

Description of common areas - The home has two lounge rooms with views to the garden. We have two large dining rooms which are easily accessible and can accommodate walking aids. We have a Chapel in the home which offers daily Mass and reflection. There is a large auditorium and self contained function center for the use of residents, families and community. We also have a library, coffee shop and general store run by the community. There is a physiotherapy room and allied health facilities. We have expansive gardens which include courtyards for entertaining. The home and gardens are well maintained.



Pricing Guidelines effective as of 1st January 2020

ll room types at the Little Sisters of The Poor Homes are priced the same. The following amounts are the maximum you will be charged if you are not eligible for a Government subsidy.There are three payment options to choose from:
 
1. Refundable accommodation deposit (paid as a lump sum) - The maximum refundable accommodation deposit you will be charged is $250,000.00.

2. Daily accommodation payment - $33.63 per day - This is based on the Maximum Permissible Interest Rate of 4.91% which is set by the government.

3. Combination of refundable accommodation deposit and daily payment - 50% of your payment as a refundable accommodation deposit and 50% as a daily payment, your deposit will be $125,000.00 and your daily payment will be $16.82
